Abby Jones
Stylist
“I have been getting my hair done with Abby for the few years now. She never disappoints! She takes the time to get to know her clients and I leave so happy every time!”
It all started 8 years ago…
I grew up in El Campo, Texas. I moved to San Marcos to attend Texas state university and graduated with a business management degree with a concentration in entrepreneurial studies. The summer after graduating I attended Aveda institute in Austin, Texas were I obtained my cosmology certification. I’ve been doing hair and loving it ever since! I just recently had my first baby and celebrated my first year of marriage with my husband, Cody!
Areas of expertise
I love the art of balayage and the process of altering hair with chemicals such as coloring, bleaching and straightening treatments. I am also certified in Babe hair extensions.
What do you love about your job
There are many aspects of being a hairstylist that I love. I love connecting with my clients and really growing a relationship with each and every one of them. When a client sits in my chair I try to make it a stress free, let it all out service. I love catching up with them as the weeks go by and tweak their hair needs each time! I also just love doing hair. I love the process of changing and sculpting hair. I treat my clients’ hair as my own, something that I create and maintain at every service.
Why did you get into this profession
I got into the business of doing hair because I love connecting with others and working with my hands and creating. I worked for years in retail and developed many relationships and thought that I could combine that with working with my hands. I loved doing hair as a small child, like a lot of little girls do but really didn’t think about making it a career until I graduated from college.
What is your secret to success
There are many “secrets” to success that aren’t really a secret, success should be shared and I think that’s key.
I work hard and diligently, I make myself available to a clients needs and create lasting relationships with them. My parents are the reason I appreciate and understand hard work, they taught me at a young age that if you want something you have to make it happen by giving it all you’ve got. My goal was to find a job I was good at and actually really enjoy and I found that doing hair.
Keeping up on my education is key too, times change and styles change so being on top of new trends will always help. I go to classes and research new techniques and scroll Instagram for hair tutorials!
