Julie Tripp

Stylist

love Julie! She is literally THE BEST! She is so kind, patient, and listens so well. I’ve been going to her for a few years now, and she has gone with me through some style changes. She also has taken care of my daughter’s hair all through highschool and all of her new styles. Love my current blunt cut & darker toner!

It all started 9 years ago…

Hi! My name is Julie, I’ve been doing hair for 9 years. I grew up in San Antonio, and moved to San Marcos to go to Texas State University, and graduated with a Business Accounting Degree. I worked at a corporate office for a year before realizing I wanted to do something to be able to express my creative side. I’d always loved playing with hair color on friends, and decided to make a career change. I went to cosmetology school in San Marcos at Total Transformation Institute. In order to give myself a leg up, I interned at Monroe Hair Studio while getting my cosmetology license. Being able to learn fundamentals while learning in the salon gave me confidence once I was finally licensed.

I’m lucky to be able to combine my need for a creative outlet with my knowledge of business in the salon.

I love working with all varieties of blondes, but I also always get excited doing rich reds and beautiful brunettes. I’ve always had long hair myself, so I love getting new long hair clients terrified of getting trims because they’ve gone somewhere and a stylist has cut off more than agreed upon, and then being able to make them fall in love with coming to the salon again because I was able to do exactly what they wanted.

Even better if it was better than they imagined. Sometimes those are the same clients that finally take the plunge to chop their hair off into a sassy new do because they have full faith in me.

In the summers you’ll typically find me by the water. I grew up going to Lake Dunlap and now I’m lucky enough to live minutes away. I also frequent Canyon Lake. In the winter, there’s usually a campfire nearby. I also love traveling, and anytime someone suggests a trip I’m game.

Hair Tip

no. 1 Always use a heat protective leave-in conditioner. It helps protect against heat styling or the sun damage while keeping texture of hair soft and silky smooth.
